Comentário: Grupo alemão surgido em 1976 e incluía em sua formação ex-membros de Embryo, Missus Beastly e Missing Link. Lançaram um único álbum no ano seguinte, porém sem sucesso comercial o grupo acumulou dívidas e, junto da troca de músicos, levou ao seu fim precoce pouco depois. Posto aqui um ao vivo na capital Berlin em 1978, mas que só foi redescoberto e lançado 40 anos depois, pela Sireena Records.

Este CD surpreende quem já conhecia a banda pelo seu disco de estúdio por trazer um som mais audacioso e criativo. Totalizando mais de uma hora, dividida em sete longas faixas, a obra segue a proposta de mesclar krautrock com jazz fusion (tendo aqui doses de funk e prog), em jams que beiram a experimentação e lisergia, apesar de técnica invejável dos músicos presentes. A dobradinha guitarra / teclado guia o instrumental em grandes solos, rivalizando com a bela voz feminina de Maria Archer (letras em inglês).
Pérola recomendada para todo fã de kraut e rock alemão no geral!

Real Ax Band might have been something of a minor footnote in German jazz rock history, their original recorded output was limited to an album and a few songs on anthologies, but they were a much better band than that. They not only had an extremely talented singer in Maria Archer but they were an extremely tight band, performing a style that wasn't terribly far from Kraan or Embryo around the same time except with a bit more commercial flair. A band of this persuasion is just going to shine and by "Everyone I Know" you know you're in the presence of an outstanding band, it just lifts off and kills. 
No matter how pell mell the pace, the band is just tight and assured, the bass and drums locked in like all the best jazz rock groups. Amazingly, Real Ax is just getting warmed up at this point. As they start moving into jams, the guitarist wakes up and starts laying down fire. 25 minutes into this thing and I was practically exhausted. Utterly relentless, badass playing by a band plugged right into the creative well. The band is still in terrific form though, although it started to dawn on me that Archer wasn't showing up on vocals for a lot longer stretches than you would have expected from the studio album.

Comentário: Pérola vinda de Bottrop, no oeste da Alemanha, formada por jovens locais. O quarteto gravou material em estúdio e que teve apenas 1 cópia (dubplate), dada de presente ao baterista, e que foi milagrosamente recuperada e remasterizada em 2017, sendo lançada pela Garden of Delights, com 3 faixas bônus gravadas ao vivo.
As 7 faixas presentes, maioria longas e todas instrumentais, trazem influências de rock progressivo tradicional e krautrock (sendo o próprio nome da banda uma homenagem ao Kraftwerk), com pegada experimental e jam session em vários momentos. A flauta é muito presente e guia o instrumental, acompanha por boas passagens de guitarra e bateria. O ponto negativo é a qualidade do som, principalmente nas 4 primeiras músicas, que ainda passa longe do ideal, mas não compromete a audição.

Only ONE original vinyl copy of this album exists. That copy was given as a present to the band's drummer, Reinhold Stania, in 1975. It was unfortunately played too often and is therefore quite badly damaged. And to make the story even sadder, the master tapes were thrown away. Fortunately it was possible to restore (and decrackle!) the music for this reissue, though a couple of moments still don't sound perfect. Reaktor 4 was an obscure but wonderful progressive band from Germany's Ruhr Area that hardly ever played outside its hometown of Bottrop. The music is intrumental with experimental tendencies and a leading role for the flute. This CD-reissue, which includes bonus material, is an interesting item for any fanatical prog/kraut enthusiast.

Comentário: Mike Lewis é um multi-instrumentista nascido no Canadá, porém que fez toda sua carreira musical na Alemanha, sendo membro da Wired e Moosknukkl Groovband. Este é seu primeiro trabalho solo e um dos álbuns mais raros feitos no país, com produção e participação do célebre Conny Plank. Difícil de classificar, atravessa estilos como jazz fusion, krautrock, prog e groove, dominado por jams viajantes de órgão e bateria / percussão (todos tocados por Mike), além do vocal chapado e com letras em inglês. Destaque para a suíte 'Cracked Ice', que ocupa todo o lado B do LP.

Mike Lewis is a multi-instrumentalist born in Canada, but that made all his musical career in Germany, being a member of Wired and Moosknukkl Groovband. This is his first solo work and one of the rarest albums made in the country, with production and participation of the famous Conny Plank. Hard to classify, through styles like jazz fusion, krautrock, prog and groove, led by trippy jams of organ and drums / percussion (all played by Mike), and the stoned vocals with lyrics in English. Highlight to the suite 'Cracked Ice', which takes up the entire side B of the LP.

Comentário: Atendendo à pedidos, faço repost desta raridade suíça, que lançou um único álbum em 1972. Fortemente inspirado pelas primeiras bandas de Krautrock alemãs, o grupo traz um som altamente viajante e experimental, sendo considerado estranho em alguns momentos, onde ouvimos órgão, percussão, saxofone e alguns momentos cantados em francês. 

Pyranha's sole album sounds like a lost recording from the Futura label. There's quite a bit of psychotic ranting in French over studio effects, vibes, guitar and percussion. Also some organ and electric piano driven rock sessions. Album opener is even a bit funky. Only misstep is the second song on side 1 ('Time 13'), a misguided improvisation that seems to serve no purpose whatsover. Unfortunately it's also the longest track at nearly 13 minutes long. Had that track just been merely average, and not so obtrusive, I think I would've considered this as a Priority 3. A fascinating listen though.

PROG/ KRAUTROCK - EXPONENT - Upside Down - 2014 (1974)

Atendendo a pedidos, trago ao blog uma das grandes descobertas do rock alemão nos último anos. Formada em Wuppertal no começo dos anos 70, o grupo Exponent chegou a dividir palco com nomes como Novalis e gravou um álbum em 1974, porém este não foi lançado na época, ao mesmo tempo do final do quarteto. Apenas 40 anos depois a Koru Suro e Garden of Delights recuperaram o material, que teve versões em CD e LP.
Upside Down é dividido em 5 longas faixas (contando com uma suite de quase 20 minutos e outro bônus ao vivo do CD) que trazem uma sonoridade bem próxima de outras bandas conterrâneas da época, variando entre progressivo sinfônico e krautrock. O instrumental é predominante, com destaque para os teclados de Frank (órgão, sintetizadores e piano) proporcionando alguns momentos mais sombrios e outros agitados, acompanhado muito bem pela bateria, guitarra e vocais em inglês.

This is more German symphonic than classic Krautrock, imagine Spektakel as played by Eloy. This is definitely a dream for keyboard fans, and there's oodles of organ, Moog, electric piano, and mellotron to absorb and treasure. While there is guitar, it definitely plays second banana to the awesome banks of keyboards. And, as indicated prior, the album is geared more towards the symphonic progressive genre with plenty of meter breaks and compositional acumen. This is not a atmospheric Krautrock zone out. Side 2 is a bit more of a blues based jam, and also possesses a slightly lesser sound quality, but still no less awesome of a listening experience - perhaps calling out a more classic German sound ala Sixty-Nine. On the topic of sound quality, it's very good for an archival recording, so be sure to keep expectations in check.

Pérola obscura vinda da Alemanha, formada por jovens provavelmente na cidade de Konstanz. O grupo Coram Publico lançou apenas um compacto em 1970 pela Intercord e sumiu do mapa, sem mais informações. Traz as músicas "Bodensee" e "Broadway", ambas na casa dos 3 minutos e com influências de psicodelia e krautrock (ainda em seu período inicial), em um clima bem viajante e hippie, com destaque para excelente trabalho no órgão, guitarras ácidas e vocais em inglês.

Pérola formada em Stuttgart, na Alemanha, por volta de 1968. O grupo Hotzenplotz lançou apenas um raro disco em 1972, antes de mudar o nome para Volks-Musik, lançando este mesmo álbum novamente no mesmo ano (apenas mudando a capa). Mesmo assim não conseguiram sucesso e alguns anos mais tarde se desfizeram, alguns membros integram outros projetos.
Songs aus der Show é composto por 12 curtas faixas, seguindo duas linhas típicas da época no país: o Deutschrock, principalmente nas letras de protesto e que retratavam a vida e problemas sociais e krautrock, que aqui se manifesta timidamente, mas mesmo assim tem influências. Rock psicodélico e progressivo se revezam, em momentos nervoso e heavy, outros folk e acústico e ainda viajantes improvisações. O instrumental também é variado, com guitarra, órgão, percussão e flauta.
Obra interessante para fãs de kraut, psych/prog rock, mas que perde um pouco do sentido para quem não entende alemão.

Gem formed in Stuttgart, Germany, circa 1968. The group Hotzenplotz released only a rare album in 1972 before changing its name to Volks-Musik, releasing the same album again in the same year (only changing the cover). Still failed to hit and a few years later disbanded, some members integrate other projects.
"Songs aus der Show" consists of 12 short tracks, following two typical lines of the time in the country: deutschrock, mainly in protest lyrics, describing the life and social problems and krautrock, which here manifests itself timidly, but still has influences . Psychedelic and progressive rock take turns, in heavy moments, other folk and acoustic and even some brief improvisations. The instrumental is also varied, with guitar, organ, percussion and flute. Interesting work for kraut, psych / prog rock fans, but loses some of sense for those who don't understand German.

HEAVY PROG/ KRAUT - ODYSSEE - Same - 1998 (1974)

Fechando essa sequência de postagens europeias, uma pérola obscura vinda da Alemanha. O grupo Odyssee foi formado em Essen, gravando algumas faixas (provavelmente ao vivo) em 1974, que não chegaram a ser lançadas enquanto a banda estava na ativa. Apenas em 1998 as antigas gravações foram lançadas em LP, de forma independente e limitada.
O homônimo traz 4 faixas majoritariamente instrumentais, sendo as três últimas longas e misturando influências de krautrock, rock psicodélico, progressivo, blues e hard, sendo comparado a Wishbone Ash e Rush. O instrumental é composto por duas guitarristas, baixo e bateria, todos bem-entrosados e com momentos solos notáveis se revezando, ao estilo jam. A qualidade da gravação não é das melhores, mas aceitável.
Uma excelente pedida para fãs de hard prog e krautrock dos anos 70.

Odyssee was an obscure quartet, whose origins are unknown and only the line-up has come in surface. They recorded an album in 1974, which apparently was never released and it became available only in late-90's on private-pressed vinyl.

The album consists of three very long cuts along with the short opening piece ''Ithaki'', which contains some of the best dual guitar performances you can found around, with great riffs and powerful twists in a fast tempo.The long pieces come in a more traditional Kraut/Psych style with extended jamming, showered by discreet bluesy influences and some WISHBONE ASH colors in the background.''Circum-navigationed hazard'' is propably the best the three with nice breaks, a nice narration in the middle, dynamic twin guitar riffing and even the jamming parts are also good.''Deliverance'' and ''Final enigmatic blaze of glory days'' sound less balanced and typical of Heavy/Hard Rock style with decent but not outstanding lead guitars and overstretched Kraut-flavored grooves with little to offer. The recording quality of the album is below average, somewhat affecting the overall execution.The ability of the group to comfortably switch from sharp riffs and impressive dual guitar moves to more psychedelic and slow-paced passages is definitely great and will reward all fans of guitar-based Kraut Rock.

Very rare album, which you will be like to find after purchasing it in double-digit bucks.Good, mostly instrumental, guitar-powered Kraut Rock with an average sound but also a talented guitar duo.Recommended.

Atendendo a pedidos, faço repost dessa obscura pérola vinda de Rosenberg, na Alemanha. O grupo Os Pescadores foi formado no começo dos anos 70 e lançou um único e raro álbum em 1972, de forma independente e até hoje não reeditado, sumindo do mapa logo depois.
Sound of Lonelyness é composto por 8 faixas, maioria curtas, que misturam influências das bandas alemãs e inglesas da época, no som "hardeiro", psicodélico e krautrock, mas com uma singularidade: a temática cristã nas canções. O instrumental merece destaque, guiado por primoroso trabalho no órgão de Thomas Hettinger e contando ainda com boas passagens de guitarra e piano. As letras são metade em alemão e outra em inglês, com vocais masculinos e femininos. Apesar de sólido, destaque para "Sound Of Loneliness", "Tausend Jahre", "Kreislauf" e "I'm So Very Suprised".
Recomendado para fãs de hard rock psicodélico, kraut e rock cristão.

Rarely does a Christian album burn with the musical intensity of Germany’s heavy progressive rockers Os Pescadores. Their molten brew of thunderous surging organ and blistering hard rock guitar often bubbles over with the brute force of bands like Deep Purple. Eight lengthy selections, four of which are in English (‘Thank You Lord’, ‘I’m So Very Surprised’, the searing title track, and the closing hymn ‘Amazing Grace’). The remaining four songs are in German and are equally good: ‘Meinst Du Wirklich’ (‘Do You Really Believe’), ‘Tausend Jahre’ (‘Thousand Years’), ‘Kreislauf’ (‘Circle’) and ‘Gibt’s Denn Niemand’ (‘Is There Nobody’). A rare and obscure big dollar private press thing that occasionally turns up in the international scene. Laminated foldout cover with cool fish design (with no pocket for the record it’s almost more like a deluxe insert). Solid joyous reckless headbangin’ for Jesus that can be filed alongside fellow pulverizers Earthen Vessel and Out Of Darkness. The band name means “the fishermen” in Portuguese.

HARD/ PROG/ KRAUTROCK - VARIOUS - Heavy Christmas - 1971

Postagem especial de Natal, a compilação Heavy Christmas foi lançada em 1971 pela Pilz e relançada em CD e vinil em 1997. É composto por 11 faixas, tocadas por 7 pérolas alemãs da época, a maioria lançou apenas um álbum, apenas Virus e Flute & Voice chegaram à dois LPs. Esse também é o único registro da banda Libido.
As músicas trazem uma variedade grande de estilos, passando pelo krautrock, progressivo, hard, folk e psicodelia, mas com temas natalinos e letras em inglês. Saxofone, órgão, guitarra wah-wah, flautas se revezam no instrumental, dando momentos viajantes/ experimentais e outros de simples e direto rock setentista, com destaque para as músicas de Virus e Libido.
Apesar de um pouco inconsistente, excelentes momentos do rock alemão são ouvidos aqui, pérola natalina recomendada!

One of the odder relics of the Krautrock heyday of the early '70s, Heavy Christmas found itself reissued in 1997 as part of the overall revival of the said sound. Originally released in 1971, it featured both new and traditional Christmas songs interpreted by seven different acts, most of whom contribute two tracks each. None of the featured acts are among the upper tier of Krautrock acts -- and it would have been quite something to hear the likes of Can, Kraftwerk, and Guru Guru do Christmas songs! -- but the end results have their high points. If any bands would be points of inspiration, Amon Duul II and Faust would probably be them; most of the acts here have the nutty playfulness of the first, touched here and there by the sheer cut-up chaos of the second. Compared to both, though, groups like Libido and Virus are much more straightforward. Libido itself gets in two of the representative songs: "Evolution," starting with a weird, ragged chorus and getting in some heavy drum slams and crazed guitar wah-wah action; and the rockin' good times of "Come on Everybody," apparently the album's single. Virus has its own fine winner, "X-Mas Submarine," with a stuttering keyboard line and fantastic guitar soloing its high points. Joy Unlimited's contribution is a doozy, a lengthy number called "All Heaven and Earth Are Silent" which sounds like a mix of stoner folk, pomp-rock instrumentals, and a strung-out Up With People. In perhaps the most entertaining trip-out, Dies Irae rips through an instrumental version of "Silent Night" with a snarling electric guitar taking the totally unlikely lead, alternating between full propulsion and calmer moments. Solo act Marcel delivers "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" with a nicely airy vocal, while his backing musicians crank the amps and add violin to boot.

KRAUTROCK - HABOOB - Same - 1971

Atendendo pedidos, posto essa pérola formada em Munique, na Alemanha, no começo dos anos 70, mas por membros norte-americanos. O trio Haboob era liderado pelo organista Jimmy Jackson, que participou de reconhecidas bandas alemãs como Amon Düül II, Embryo, Passport e Utopia e ainda contava com o baterista George Green (ex-Niagara) e o guitarrista William Powell. Infelizmente o projeto durou pouco e resultou em apenas um álbum de 1971, relançado apenas em 2009 em CD.
O homônimo é dividido em 7 faixas de Krautrock difíceis de classificar, dominado por experimentações que mesclam jazz rock, space e blues em uma atmosfera totalmente viajante e densa. A parte instrumental domina com longos solos de órgão, bateria e guitarra, já os vocais "psicodélicos" aparecem mais raramente e dispersos, com letras em inglês. Destaque para "Israfil", "Blues For Willi Pee" e "Time To Be".
Pérola recomendada para fãs de kraut e jazz rock.

Haboob was formed in Munich, Germany in the early 70s, but by American members. The trio was led by organist Jimmy Jackson, who participated in Amon Düül II, Embryo, Passport and Utopia and drummer George Green (former Niagara) and guitarist William Powell. Unfortunately the project was short-lived and resulted in only one album, re-released in 2009 on CD only.
The self-titled from 1971 is divided into 7 Krautrock tracks, but difficult to classify, dominated by experiments that mix jazz, blues and space rock in a totally traveling and dense atmosphere. The instrumental part dominates with long organ, drums and guitar solos, as the vocals "psychedelic" appear more rarely and dispersed, with English lyrics. Key tracks are "Israfil", "Blues For Willi Pee" and "Time To Be." Pearl recommended for kraut and jazz rock fans.

Respost especial no Blog, desse disco lançado pela MCA alemã em 1970. O Pop & Blues Festival '70 traz um show de de Hamburgo que apresenta novos nomes do rock, jazz e também do Krautrock do país na época. Aqui temos 5 bandas, sendo que Frumpy e Tomorrow's Gift foram as que conseguiram maior destaque na cena alemã, o Thrice Mice lançou um só disco em 70 e as grandes pérolas Beatique Corporation e Sphinx Tush só tem essas poucas músicas como registro.
Vários estilos se misturam nas 8 longas faixas, sendo a maioria rock progressivo, jazz fusion, krautrock e jams experimentais viajantes e psicodélicos (principalmente nas faixas do Thrice Mice e Frumpy), contando até o heavy psych insanos de "Crashville", do Sphinx Tush. Instrumental dominante, com passagens longas de saxofone, órgão, guitarra, Bateria são o grande destaque, alguns vocais são femininos e outros masculinos.

This album was released by German MCA in 1970. The Pop & Blues Festival '70 brings a show in Hamburg. Here we listen 5 bands, with Frumpy and Tomorrow's Gift were those achieved greater prominence in the German scene, Thrice Mice released one album in 70 and obscure Beatique Corporation and Sphinx Tush. 
Various styles mixed into 8 long tracks, most progressive rock, jazz fusion, krautrock and experimental jams (especially in the Thrice Mice and Frumpy tracks), with insane heavy psych of "Crashville", Sphinx Tush. Instrumental with long passages of sax, organ, guitar, drums are the highlight, some vocals are female and other male. Recommended for fans of progressive rock, jazz, krautrock and live sounds of the 70s.

KRAUT/ JAM ROCK - ELLUFFANT - Release Concert - 1972

Mais uma obscura pérola vinda da Holanda, o Elluffant foi uma dupla formada em Roterdã no começo dos anos 70, por Cees de Visser, na bateria e percussão e Ernst Kersting, no órgão e teclados. Deixaram apenas um raro álbum em 1972, gravado ao vivo de forma independente e com apenas 150 cópias, vendidas por uma instituição local.
O disco Release Concert traz apenas 2 longas faixas instrumentais, ambas na casa dos 16 minutos, seguindo a linha experimental, influenciada pelo som alemão do Krautrock e também rock psicodélico e progressivo. Os jams trazem um som viajante e até sombrio em alguns momentos, com longos solos de órgão e bateria se alternando e uso de vários pedais e distorções.
Pérola recomendada pra quem curte obscuridades do rock, sons experimentais e krautrock.

Pearl from the Netherlands, the duo Elluffant was formed in Rotterdam in the early '70s. Released only a rare album in 1972, recorded live and with only 150 copies, sold by a local institution. 
The album Release Concert features only 2 long instrumental tracks, following the experimental rock music, influenced by the German Krautrock sound and also psychedelic and prog rock. The jams bring a stoned and even dark sound at times, with long organ solos and drums alternating, with using multiple pedals and distortion. Recommended for those who enjoy obscurities, krautrock and experimental sounds.

ACID FOLK / KRAUTROCK - SERGIUS GOLOWIN - Lord Krishna von Goloka - 1973

Sergius Golowin foi um escritor e artista, nascido em Praga, na Checoslováquia e atual República Tcheca em 1930. Com apenas 3 anos Golowin se mudou para Berna, na Suíça, onde foi criado e começou a escrever livros esotéricos, ainda na década de 50. Em 1973 Sergius partiu para a Alemanha, onde participou de alguns shows com o grupo The Cosmic Jokers e participou de um projeto com vários músicos conhecidos da cena alemã, como Klaus Schulze, Jerry Berkers, Bernd Witthüser e outros, como resultado um disco lançado em 73 pelo selo Kosmische. Golowin faleceu em 2006 com 76 anos.
O álbum Lord Krishna von Goloka, de 1973, traz 3 faixas de acid folk, sendo duas muito longas, experimentais e com clima psicodélico, com letras em alemão falando sobre misticismo, cosmos, espíritos e outros temas que o compositor já citava em seus livros. O instrumental é na maioria do tempo acústico, com violões, percussão, flauta e tablas, mas também têm seus momentos eletrônicos (Krautrock), com mellotron, sintetizador e órgão.
Pérola obscura e viajante, altamente recomendado para fãs de Krautrock e folk psicodélico.

KRAUTROCK - DÜDE DÜRST - Krokodil Solo - 1971

Trabalho solo do baterista suíço Düde Dürst, paralelo a sua banda na época, o Krokodil. O músico também participou de outros grupos menores do país, como o Wiebelfetzer e outros, na carreira solo Düde lançou dois álbuns, esse de 1971, que posto aqui, e um mais recente de 2009.
O disco Krokodil Solo, lançado em 1971 traz apenas 2 longas faixas instrumentais, ambas viajantes e experimentais, que podem ser classificados como Krautrock, mas com passagens de rock progressivo e jazz. Momentos obscuros e psicodélicos podem ser ouvidos nos longos e vários solos de bateria, lembrando um pouco os alemães do Rupus Zuphall, outros instrumentos como sax, flauta, piano e tabla também aparecem muito bem, dando um tom melancólico em algumas partes.
Um belo disco, pérola recomendada para quem gosta de krautrock e improvisações.

Solo work of Swiss drummer Düde Dürst, parallel to his band at the time, Krokodil. Düde released two solo albums, first in 1971, and most recent in 2009. 
The album Krokodil Solo, released in 1971 only brings 2 long instrumental tracks, both travelers and experimental, which can be classified as Krautrock, but with passages of jazz and progressive rock. Obscure and psychedelic moments can be heard in long and several drum solos, slightly reminiscent of the German Rupus Zuphall, other instruments such as saxophone, flute, piano and tabla also appear very well, giving a melancholy tone in some parts. A beautiful album, pearl recommended for those who like krautrock and improvisations.

KRAUTROCK/JAZZ ROCK - OPOSSUM - Bear's Banquet - 2003 (1974)

Opossum foi uma pérola alemã formada em Warburg, no ano de 1971 originalmente como um trio. A banda adicionou mais três membros e o então sexteto passou a fazer shows pela região, usando muito do improviso, e chegando a participar de festivais com importantes nomes do Krautrock como Xhol, Tangerine Dream e Kraan. Em 1974 o grupo gravou algumas músicas, mas estas não chegaram a ser lançadas pois o Opossum se desfez um ano após, em 1975. Depois do fim, vários integrantes formaram a banda de Jazz Rock Morpheus, que chegou a lançar um disco em 76. Enquanto isso o Opossum passou quase trinta anos totalmente oculto e esquecido, até que em 2003 o CD Bear's Banquet foi lançado com essas poucas faixas gravadas em 74, pela Garden of Delights.
O álbum Bear's Banquet traz um ótimo e típico Krautrock, todo instrumental e cheio de improvisações, contando ainda com bons momentos de jazz rock e até um pouco de free jazz, ora calmos, tranquilos e outros de "bagunça" musical. Ótimas composições e músicos bem "entrosados" marcam o som da banda; destaque para flauta e o saxofone aparecem muito bem em todas as canções, o trio guitarra/teclado/bateria também não decepciona.
No geral, um álbum sólido, com 5 faixas muito agradáveis; belo registro de Krautrock e Jazz Rock, pérola altamente recomendada para fãs do estilo.

Opossum was a German pearl formed in Warburg , in 1971 originally as a trio . The band added a further three members and then the sextet went on to do shows around the area, using a lot of improvisation, and even participated of festivals with important names of Krautrock moviment like XhoI, Tangerine Dream and Kraan. In 1974 the group recorded a few songs, but these did not come to be launched because Opossum disbanded one year after, in 1975 . After the end , several members formed the  Jazz Rock band Morpheus. Meanwhile the Opossum spent nearly thirty years totally hidden and forgotten, until in 2003 the CD Bear's Banquet was released with these few tracks recorded in 74, by Garden of Delights 
The Bear's Banquet album brings a great and typical Krautrock, all instrumental and full of improvisations, still relying on good Jazz Rock moments and even a bit of free jazz; sometimes calm, quiet and other musical mess. Great compositions and high quality musicians mark the band's sound, especially flute and saxophone appear nicely in all the songs, the guitar / keyboard / drums trio did not disappoint .
Overall, a solid album with 5 very nice tracks, beautiful pearl and highly recommended for fans of Krautrock and Jazz Rock.

KRAUTROCK - DEAF - Alpha - 1994 (1969-72)

Obscura pérola formada na Suíça no fim da década de 60. O Deaf nasceu como projeto do vocalista e guitarrista Dany Rühle e do organista Jelly Pastorini, ambos ex-membros da banda de rock psicodélico suíça The Shiver. Infelizmente o grupo não conseguiu lançar nenhum álbum ou mesmo compacto nos seus três anos de atividade, apenas alguns jams foram gravados nos anos de 71 e 72, o tempo passou e só em 1994 a gravadora Black Rills lançou uma coletânea em vinil e com número bastante limitado de cópias, com o nome de Alpha, trazendo 4 longas faixas gravadas ao vivo ou em estúdio.
O som dos caras trazia um rock altamente experimental, com longas passagens instrumentais, típico do Krautrock, que mesmo tendo sua origem e auge na Alemanha, se espalhou para alguns países vizinhos e o Deaf foi uma dessas bandas não-alemãs do estilo. Elementos do rock progressivo tradicional, jazz e sons viajantes do rock psicodélico/ space também estão presentes. As quatro músicas variam entre momentos calmos, melódicos e outros mais barulhentos e até "esquizofrênicos", o instrumental domina quase todo o disco, as vezes algumas vozes são ouvidas ao fundo. Destaque para boas passagens de teclado, órgão, percussão e flauta. Quanto as faixas, apesar de ser consistente, sem nenhuma música ruim, a mais longa do disco merece ênfase: Alpha, única do lado B e na casa de 22 minutos.
Pérola altamente recomendada para quem gosta de rock experimental e krautrock.

Obscure pearl formed in Switzerland in the late 60's. Deaf was "born" as a project of vocalist and guitarist Dany Rühle and organist Jelly Pastorini, both ex-members of the psychedelic rock band The Shiver . Unfortunately the group didn't release any albums in its three years of activity, only a few jams were recorded in the years 71 and 72 and only in 1994 the label Rills Black released a compilation vinyl and with quite number limited copies, named Alpha, bringing four long tracks recorded live or in the studio.
The sound of the guys brought a highly experimental rock with long instrumental passages , typical of Krautrock. Traditional elements of progressive rock, jazz and trippy moments of psychedelic rock / space are also present . The four songs vary between quiet , melodic  moments and more noisy and even " schizophrenic ", the instrumental dominates almost the entire record , sometimes some voices are heard in the background . Highlight for good passages of keyboard, organ, percussion and flute. As for the tracks , despite being consistent with no bad music, the longest of the album worth emphasis: Alpha , single B-side and with more than 22 minutes .
Pearl highly recommended for those who like experimental rock and krautrock .

PROG/KRAUTROCK - PINGUIN - Der grosse rote Vogel - 1972

Pérola alemã de Krautrock, o Pinguin se formou em 1970 com o nome de Talix, lançando uma outra raridade em 1970. Lançaram em 1972 seu primeiro e único álbum: Der grosse rote Vogel, o primeiro da gravadora Zebra. O grupo veio a acabar um ano após o lançamento do LP.
Seu álbum, o grande pássaro vermelho (em português) traz um som mais maduro e voltado ao progressivo do que o disco de 70. Apesar de ser classificado como Krautrock, o som da banda é bem diferente de outros grupos tradicionais alemães do estilo, voltados mais para a música experimental. As seis longas faixas têm uma boa e interessante combinação de vários instrumentos como flauta, saxofone, guitarra e órgão (predominante nas canções), o vocal de Klaus Gebauer, apesar das letras serem em alemão, também merece destaque.
Uma ótima pérola, recomendada para fãs de progressivo e também Krautrock.

German Pearl of Krautrock, the Pinguin was formed in 1970 under the name Talix, launching another rarity in 1970. Launched in 1972 their first and only album: Der grosse rote Vogel, the first in label Zebra. The group came to end one year after the release of this LP.
Their album, the big red bird (in English) brings a more mature sound and returned to progressive than the 70 one. Despite being classified as Krautrock, the band's sound is quite different from other traditional German groups of this style, geared more towards experimental music. The six long tracks have a good and interesting combination of various instruments such as flute, saxophone, guitar and organ (predominantly in the songs), the voice of Klaus Gebauer, even though the lyrics are in German, is also noteworthy.
A great pearl, recommended for fans of progressive and Krautrock also.

KRAUTROCK - SILOAH - Same - 1970

Silhoah foi uma típica obscura pérola alemã de Krautrock. Formada em Munique no fim dos anos 60 o grupo lançou dois álbuns raríssimos (1970/72), com um número muito pequeno de cópias. Posto aqui o primeiro deles.
O disco homônimo de 1970 traz um som experimental, viajante e psicodélico, caracterizando o grupo como Krautrock. A maior diferença é o não uso de teclados e órgão (típicos dos outros grupos nesse estilo), sendo mais voltado para canções acústicas e "folk", tendo flauta e violão. As letras são em inglês e têm tema hippie. Destaque para as faixas Krishna's Golden Dope Show e Road to Laramy
Boa pérola, recomendado para fãs de psicodélico e krautrock.

Siloah were a German progressive psych / folk band. A collective hippie musical tribe largely inspired by mysticism, LSD and sexadelism. Their music features a heavy use of stoned vocals (in English), mantric like guitar parts, flute, "ethnic" percussions. Their first drugged item released in 1970 offers a dangerous and imaginative ocean of trippy, perpetual jammings. A bombastic psychedelic explosion in the mood of the best german prog folk releases.

KRAUTROCK - THRICE MICE - Thrice Mice!

Obscura banda alemã de Hamburgo formada em 1966 e que participou do Pop & Blues Festival 1970 (já postado aqui), lançou apenas um álbum em 1970 e acabou em 1972. O disco Thrice Mice foi relançado em 2003 com 7 faixas bônus. Depois do fim do grupo os membros Werner Karl e Heinz Blumenberg formaram o grupo Altona.
O álbum Thrice Mice de 70 traz um bom Krautrock com influencias de jazz e rock progressivo. Álbum "guiado" pelo saxofone e com bons solos de órgão, destaque também para a bateria, Thrice Mice é uma ótima pérola dos anos inicias do krautrock.
