BEAT/ GARAGE ROCK - THE MODS - Folk Instrumentals of Pakistan - 1968

Pérola vinda do Paquistão, o grupo The Mods foi formado por jovens locais (liderados por Mohammed Yousuf) em meados dos anos 60 e lançou um único EP em 1968! Algumas dessas músicas estão presentes em várias compilações recentes sobre rock na região, como Pakistan Folk and Pop Instrumentals 1966 – 1976.
O EP "Folk Instrumentals of Pakistan" traz 4 curtas músicas instrumentais, versões mais "modernas" a canções tradicionais do país. O estilo do quinteto passa pelo surf e beat rock, com típica pegada garagem da época, com bons e simples solos de órgão e guitarra, se revezando com a percussão. Apesar de limitado e atrasado em relação ao resto do mundo, essa é uma obra muito interessante para fãs de rock "fora do eixo".

Pearl coming from Pakistan, "The Mods" consisted of 5 local young people (led by Mohammed Yousuf) in the mid-60s and released a single EP in 1968! Some of these songs are present in several recent compilations of rock in the region, as Pakistan Folk and Pop Instrumentals 1966-1976.
The EP "Folk Instrumentals of Pakistan" brings 4 short instrumentals tracks, "modern" versions of traditional local songs. The quintet style through the surf and beat rock with typical garage footprint and good/ simple organ and guitar solos, taking turns with the percussion. Although limited and dated the rest of the world, this is a very interesting work for fans of "uunusual" rock places.
