PROG FOLK - GÉNESIS - Same - 1974

Grupo lendário e muito importante para o rock colombiano, o Génesis surgiu em 1972, na capital Bogotá e lançou vários álbuns no seus vinte anos de atividade, o grupo só acabou "oficialmente" em 1992, com a morte do fundador e uma das figuras mais importantes do rock no país: Humberto Monroy (Ciclo Cero, The Speakers), mas a partir do começo da década de 80 o "Genesis Colombiano" mudou o nome para Maíz, trocou os integrantes e tentou um som mais comercial para vender nos EUA e Europa, mas acabou fracassando.
Posto aqui o homônimo de 1974, o segundo disco deles. Traz uma boa mistura do rock, principalmente progressivo, e o folk e música colombiana, um álbum muito consistente, com ótimas faixas. Ótimo instrumental, com destaque para flauta de Echavarria, violão e guitarra; vocal de Monroy também é muito bom e encaixa bem nas músicas. Momentos mais suaves (soft) e calmos, outros pesados e movimentos se revesam nos menos de 30 minutos de duração. As letras são todas em espanhol. Destaque para as músicas Manos de hombre, Don Simon e a bonita Como decirte cuanto te amo.
Pérola recomendada para quem gosta de folk rock e progressivo.

Great instrumental, highlighting Echavarria's flute, acoustic and electric guitar, Monroy's vocals is also very good and fits well in the songs. Soft moments and other heavy and bustling revesam in less than 30 minutes long. The lyrics are all in Spanish. Emphasis on "Manos de Hombre" , "Don Simon" and beautiful "Como decirte cuanto te amo".
