FOLK ROCK - MILLARD & DYCE - Same - 1973

Pérola formada por volta de 1970 na cidade de Baltimore, nos EUA. O trio Millard & Dyce lançou um único álbum em 1973 e, apesar de conseguir certo reconhecimento local, se desfez e caiu na obscuridade. Este disco é hoje raro e de colecionador, apesar de uma nova edição japonesa em 2011.
O homônimo é composto por 9 faixas, abrindo com "On Goose Wings", uma canção de protesto e que sintetiza bem o som dos caras, transitando entre o folk norte-americano e algumas pitadas de blues, country e psicodelia. O instrumental é composto apenas por violão, baixo e guitarra, resultando em um som na maioria do tempo acústico e tranquilo, além de acompanhar os vocais, que na minha opinião são o ponte forte da banda, com vários momentos de coro e belas harmonias.
Nada extraordinário, porém um álbum recomendado para fãs de folk, country e acid folk.

Formed around 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland, the trio Millard & Dyce released one album in 1973 and, despite getting some local recognition, disbanded and fell into obscurity. This disc is now rare and a collector item, although a new Japanese edition came out in 2011.
The self-titled is composed of 9 tracks, opening with "On Goose Wings", a protest song that presentes their sound very well, going through American folk, with some blues, country and even acid rock feel. The instrumental part is composed only of electric and acoustic guitar and bass, resulting in a acoustic sound most of time, and accompany the vocals, which in my opinion are their highlight, with several moments of choir and beautiful harmonies. Nothing extraordinary, but a recommended album for country and acid folk fans.
