Comentário: Pérola vinda da Cidade do Cabo, ativa no princípio dos anos 70 e cujas informações conhecidas são apenas as da contra-capa deste LP que posto aqui. Único lançado pela banda (além de dois singles), pelo pequeno selo 'Little Giant' e que infelizmente não obteve sucesso, esta é hoje uma obra quase mítica do rock sul-africano.
Composto por 12 curtas faixas, entre composições próprias e covers de clássicos do R&B norte-americanos, este disco mescla ainda rock clássico e funk/ soul. É clara a influência de bandas dos anos 60, fazendo que soe 'ultrapassado' e comercial demais em certos momentos, também pelas composições e arranjos simples (o instrumental possui bateria, baixo e guitarra, tendo alguns bons momentos da última, além de flauta em 'Here I Come'). A produção também não é das melhores.
Um exemplo daqueles registros que valem mais pela raridade do que qualidade, apesar de alguns momentos interessantes.


The Triangle was a band from Cape Town, active in the early 70's and the only known information  is in the back cover of this LP. They released only one album (in addition to two singles), by the small label 'Little Giant' and unfortunately didn't succeed, being now an almost mythical copy of South African rock.
Composed of 12 short tracks, between own compositions and covers of  American R&B classics, this album mixes classic rock and funk / soul. The influence of bands from the 60s is clear, making it sound dated and too commercial at certain times, also for the simple compositions and arrangements, with a lack of creativity. Record production is also not the best.
An example of those records that are worth more for rarity than quality, despite some interesting moments.

Comentário: Músico nascido no Zimbábue, mas de história quase toda desconhecida, que lançou apenas um raríssimo álbum de apenas 200 cópias, sendo a maioria destruída pela censura do regime do Apartheid na época, tornando-se um dos mais raros discos sul-africanos de todos os tempos.
Composta por 13 curtas faixas, aparentemente todas executadas por John, este é um registro quase todo acústico e folk, com uma atmosfera ácida e psicodélica em certos momentos, claramente influenciado por nomes da costa oeste americana e da cena britânica. É marcado por uma sensibilidade e beleza nas composições e arranjos que chega a surpreender, sendo guiado pelo violão e vocal, com passagens de flauta, tabla e percussão.
Um ótimo exemplo de folk psicodélico dos anos 60, recomendado para fãs do estilo.


I am lucky enough to own a copy of this amazing LP. One of only three copies that have surfaced so far in the entire world. Thirteen original songs featuring sparce but clearly psychedelic instrumentation including occasional flute tabla and finger cymbals. Vocals and lyrics are reminiscent of Syd Barett, Arthur Lee, Donovan et.al. Very little is known about John. He was a pale skinned Zimbabwean who also happened to be a transexual living in South Africa's repressive apartheid regime. Apparently maybe less than 200 copies were pressed and of those many were seized and destroyed by security police. Plans are a foot to do a reissue sometime in the near future, so keep your eyes and ears open for further news.

Comentário: Parceria feita entre duas grandes figuras do jazz sul-africano, além de colaborações de peso, e que resultou em um único trabalho, infelizmente pouco lembrado. O LP é dividido em 4 faixas totalmente instrumentais, totalizando cerca de meia hora, porém apresentando um som de alta qualidade. Beira o soul/ afro jazz, avant-garde e também Cape Jazz (devido a sua localização), com muitas improvisações e duas longas jams, onde destacam-se passagens flutuantes de saxofone e piano, além de trabalho rítmico consistente.
Belíssimo exemplo de quão rico a música e o jazz africano pode ser, recomendado!


A project between two great figures of South African jazz, in addition to others collaborations, which resulted in a single work, unfortunately little remembered. The LP is divided into 4 fully instrumental tracks, totaling about half an hour, yet featuring a high quality sound. Passing through soul / afro jazz, avant-garde and also Cape Jazz (due to its location), with many improvisations and two long jams, highlight to floating passages of saxophone and piano, in addition to consistent rhythmic work.
Beautiful example of how rich African music and jazz can be, recommended!

Comentário: Formado nos anos 60 em Mamelodi, esta é uma das mais antigas bandas vindas da África do Sul, lançando vários álbuns durante as seguintes décadas. Mesmo assim, pouco se sabe sobre este registro, que aparentemente não conta com o líder Philip Tabane e teve apenas 100 cópias! 
Trazendo 8 faixas instrumentais, é dominado por improvisações e sonoridade única (classificado por alguns como free-jazz, além de ritmos tradicionais), com passagens hipnóticas de bateria, percussão e flauta dominando. Ouçam e tirem suas conclusões, especialmente fãs de música africana!

Formed in the 60s in Mamelodi, this is one of the oldest bands coming from South Africa, releasing several albums over the following decades. Still, little is known about this record, recorded without the leader Philip Tabane and only 100 copies!
Bringing 8 instrumental tracks, it is dominated by improvisations and unique sound (classified by some as free jazz, and traditional rhythms), with hypnotic passages of drums, percussion and flute dominating. Listen and draw your conclusions, especially African music fans!

Barney Rachabane é um músico sul-africano, nascido em 1946 em Alexandra, parte de Joanesburgo. É considerado um dos principais nomes da cena local nos anos 60 e 70, participando de várias bandas (com destaque ao Roots), apesar do pouco reconhecimento dado aos artistas negros na época. Possui vários discos solos, apesar da discografia completa ser imprecisa, e ainda se mantem na ativa.
Posto aqui seu primeiro álbum solo, de 1976, intitulado Sweet Matara e com participação dos músicos do Richard Jon Smith e The Rockets. Descrido pela Black Music Productions como um dos melhores álbuns de jazz/ funk já feitos no país, é totalmente instrumental e dividido em 3 excelente faixas, sendo duas acima dos 10 minutos. A mescla de ritmos africanos e funk ao jazz produz um som bastante colorido e dinâmico, onde ouvimos ótimas passagens de metais, órgão, guitarra, bateria, flauta e claro o saxofone de Barney, sempre presente.
Mais um belo exemplo da riqueza musical "escondida" pela África, recomendado para fãs de jazz funk.

Barney Rachabane is a South African musician, born in 1946 in Alexandra, Johannesburg. It is considered one of the top names in the local scene in the 60s and 70s, participating in several bands, despite the little recognition given to black artists at the time. He released several solo albums, despite the complete discography be inaccurate, and still keeps playing.
Post here his first solo album, 1976, titled Sweet Matara with the participation of musicians from Richard Jon Smith and The Rockets. Described by Black Music Productions as one of the best jazz/funk albums ever made in the country, it is completely instrumental and divided into 3 great tracks, two over 10 minutes. A mix of African rhythms and funk to jazz produces a very colorful and dynamic sound, where we hear great passages of metals, organ, guitar, drums, flute and Barney's saxophone, that's always present. Another fine example of "hidden" musical treasures in Africa, recommended for jazz funk fans.

Ipi 'N Tombia foi um projeto formado em Joanesburgo, na África do Sul, idealizado por Bertha Egnos no começo dos anos 70. Este grupo contava com Margaret Singana, que viria a ser uma das vozes mais populares do país na década, e resultou em um álbum e um musical que rodou pela África, Europa e Estados Unidos, se desfazendo alguns anos mais tarde.
Posto aqui o disco The Warrior, de 1973, que conta a história de um homem que sai de um vilarejo no interior e tenta a vida na cidade grande, porém no fim da vida se lamenta por não poder deixar nada ao seu filho. É composto por 10 curtas faixas de puro afrobeat, mesclando ritmos tradicionais zulus e outros como funk, soul e rock, captando o sentimento pulsante e animado da música africana, refletido no instrumental dinâmico, rico em percussões, metais e teclados. Porém aqui o grande destaque fica para o vocal soberano de Singana, acompanhado em vários momentos por coros, misturando inglês com línguas locais e criticas a política segregacionista da época.
Apesar de pouco rock, esta pérola vai agradar muito fãs de música africana!

From the opening drumbeats of 'The Warrior' you are encaptured by a sound that does well to capture the vastness, mystery and beauty of Africa. As the sleeve notes say, the style of songs range "from Traditional Folklore to the more modern Township Jive", mixing in a modern rock beat to create a collection of great African Rock tunes. There is a stong political commentary on track like 'The Warrior' (about the Battle of Bloodriver between the Boers and the Zulu) and 'The Digger' in which a mine labourer laments the fact that despite working all his life he has nothing to pass on to his son. These more serious tracks are offset by the upbeat celebrations of life in 'Mama Tembu's Wedding' and 'Soweto by Night'.

What is perhaps the most striking thing about this album, however is the vocals of Singana. The clarity and strength of her voice make her the star of the show. There is something special about her voice that compliments the music perfectly. It is the sound of a confident young woman giving her all. This is especially shown on tracks such as the title track and 'Ipi 'N Tombia' (translated as where is/are the girl(s) if my smattering of Zulu serves me correctly), while 'Mother Mary' finds her in a more spiritual voice which she handles with maturity. The synergy of this collection of great tunes and brilliant vocal performances is completed by producers Billy Forrest and Lofty Shultz, creating this essential South African gem which gained it an international release.

Pérola formada na região do Soweto, África do Sul, por volta de 1972, pelos irmãos Maswaswe e Sello Mothopeng. O grupo Batsumi lançou 2 álbuns entre 74 e 76, se desfazendo algum tempo depois e caindo no esquecimento por quase 4 décadas, até ter seus trabalhos recentemente relançados pela Matsuli e seu som descoberto por muitos fãs de música africana.
Posto aqui o primeiro LP homônimo, composto por 5 faixas, onde já na primeira ("Lishonile, de 11 minutos) ouvimos a linha jazz viajante da banda, combinando ainda influências de raízes da música africana (Afro-jazz) e Spiritual Jazz. É extremamente bem executado e conta com rico instrumental, destacando-se passagens de flauta, saxofone, guitarra, piano, percussão, órgão e baixo, acompanhadas em raros momentos por vocais em língua local. Apesar de nenhum momento ruim, as duas longas músicas são destaques. Essencial para fãs de afro-jazz.

Recorded in 1974 in Soweto, this is an intriguing, rousing reminder of the inventive styles that flourished in apartheid-era South Africa, but never came to the notice of the outside world. Batsumi were an Afro-jazz outfit led by a blind guitarist, Johnny Mothopeng, along with his keyboard-playing brother Lancelot and bassist Zulu Bidi. They worked in the sprawling Johannesburg township in the early 70s, and their debut album has been unobtainable for decades. Remastered from the original tapes, and best played very loud, it's a vibrant, energetic workout in which slinky, repeated riffs are matched against wailing, sometimes psychedelic effects, with saxophone and flute solos added. There are five lengthy tracks here, and they range from the opening Lishonile, in which hypnotic, repeated phrases and solos give way after nine minutes to equally furious chanting, and the cool Anishilabi, in which a classy keyboard workout and bass solo ease into a cool, loping riff. An obscure African recording, maybe, but this is still great dance music.

Wildebeest foi uma banda de vida curta, formada no fim de 1980 na África do Sul, a partir do baterista Colin Pratley (ex-membro do Freedom's Children). Deixaram um registro ao vivo em 1981, na cidade de Pretoria, relançado em CD recentemente. No ano seguinte, após saída do violinista Dave Tarr e Piet Botha, a banda se desfez e caiu na obscuridade.
Bushrock 1 é composto de 9 faixas, maioria curtas e com três covers do próprio Freedoms's Children ("Tribal Fence", "The Kid He Came From Hazareth" e "Slowly Towards the North", aqui intituladas "Russian and Chips" e "Pofadder", respectivamente). O disco traz uma sonoridade bem setentista, mesclando estilos como rock progressivo, psicodélico e hard; instrumental entrosado e competente, com solos de quase todos os instrumentos, se sobressaindo violino (presente em quase todos os momentos) e guitarra. Outro ponto alto é o belo vocal feminino de Karlien, em alguns pontos seguido por voz masculina.

Recorded in 1981, “Bushrock 1” is the sound of a truly African progressive rock band in full flight: thundering African percussion, hard rock guitars, swirling Celtic violin and soaring vocals all combine to form a heady musical brew. The "Bushrock" concept was ex Freedom’s Children drummer Colin Pratley's brainchild. On Wildebeest's live set “Bushrock 1,” the audience is advised to "settle back and relax"— then the music grabs you, throws you around, and does not let up through nine songs and nearly 45 minutes of adventurous rock. Take a sharp guitarist (Boet Faber), a thundering, driving bassist (Piet Botha), add an exuberantly talented drummer (Colin Pratley) and a rocking violin (Dave Tarr), sweeten with some lovely female vocals (Karlien van Niekerk), crank up the volume, and you’ve got the basis of Wildebeest's thundering, stampeding rock album. The songs are primarily driven by beat and rhythm—Piet's bass punctuates and emphasizes as it drives along, the rock steady and creative drumming is ever present, and the violin becomes an essential rock instrument. Then the guitar sears and soars. Masterful rock, with the great Colin Pratley flailing away on the drums. I think of it as Progressive Jungle Music.” The album was recorded live in 1981, and before that makes you pause, remember that the concept of energetic jungle rock music has rarely been better served before or since; the album features two different “covers” of Freedom’s Children tunes from their classic “Astra” album.

Fechando a sequência de postagens africanas, uma bela descoberta da África do Sul. O grupo Roots teve curto período de existência, mas que resultou em um álbum em 1975, raro e ainda não relançado. Contavam com alguns músicos que tiveram importante papel na cena jazzística local, integrando Spirits Rejoice e Sakhile alguns anos depois.
O homônimo traz 6 faixas instrumentais, maioria longas, de jazz rock/ fusion com fortes influências de funk, lembrando bandas norte-americanas. Músicos talentosos trazem um som dinâmico, apurado e primoroso, com ótimas passagens de saxofone, piano, flauta e trompete. Difícil ouvir momentos fracos, mas destaque fica para "Jabu", "Roots", "Emakhaya" e "Barney's Shoes".
Excelente pérola para fãs de jazz fusion/ funk, altamente recomendado!

A beautiful discovery from South Africa. The group Roots had short life, but resulted in an album in 1975, rare and not yet reissued. Relied on some musicians who played an important role in the local jazz scene, integrating Spirits Rejoice and Sakhile few years later.
The namesake brings six instrumental tracks, most long, jazz rock / fusion with strong funk influences, reminding American bands. Talented musicians bring a dynamic, refined and exquisite sound, with great passages of saxophone, piano, flute and trumpet. Difficult to hear weak moments, but highlight is "Jabu", "Roots", "Emakhaya" and "Barney's Shoes".
Excellent pearl for jazz fusion / funk fans, highly recommended!

HARD/ PROG ROCK - CIRCUS - In the Arena - 1977

Pérola vinda da África do Sul, formada em 1975 em Porto Elizabeth. A banda Circus teve grande impacto e popularidade local na segunda metade dos anos 70, incorporando elementos teatrais e visual Glam em seus shows. Apesar disso, o grupo se desfez precocemente após brigas entre membros, alguns ainda integraram o Clout nos anos 80. Lançaram apenas um LP em 1977, remasterizado e relançado em 2001.
In the Arena é composto de 9 curtas faixas, influências variadas de glam/ hard rock dos anos 70, ao estilo T. Rex e Bowie, com solos e riffs nervosos de guitarra e alguma intenção comercial; o rock progressivo também aparece, com domínio de sintetizadores. Ótimo vocal de Bernie Millar merece destaque, com todas as letras em inglês. Para as faixas, destaque em "Liberated Lady", "Long Legged Lady", "Speed Queen" e o cover de "Conquistador".
Apesar de um pouco genérico e até comercial, uma boa pérola para fãs de hard/ glam rock e pegadas de prog.

Pearl coming from South Africa, formed in 1975 in Port Elizabeth. The band Circus had great impact and local popularity in the second half of the 70s, incorporating theatrical elements and Glam visual at their shows. Nevertheless, the group disbanded soon after fights between members, some even joined the Clout in the 80s. They released only one LP in 1977, remastered and reissued in 2001. 
In the Arena consists of nine short tracks, varied influences of glam / hard rock of the 70's style Bowie and T. Rex, with edgy guitar riffs and solos with some commercial intent; Progressive rock also appears with domain synthesizers. Great vocals of Bernie Millar deserves mention with all lyrics in English. For the tracks best are "Liberated Lady", "Long Legged Lady," "Speed ​​Queen" and the cover of "Conquistador". Although a bit generic, a good gem for fans of hard rock / glam with prog touches.

JAZZ ROCK - IMPI - Same - 1971

Pérola de vida curta vinda da África do Sul, formada em 1971 por ex-membros de pequenos grupos locais de pop/ beat rock nos anos 60. O Impi lançou um único álbum no mesmo ano, realizando alguns poucos shows pela região, mas sem sucesso logo se desfizeram. Apenas em 2012 foi relançado em CD.
O disco homônimo traz 10 curtas faixas que misturam jazz rock, funk e folk. Há presença de vários instrumentos, com destaque para alguns fortes arranjos com metais (trompete, trombone) e clara influência de ritmos africanos com percussão e flauta (tin whistle). As letras são todas em inglês e com bonitas harmonias vocais e vários momentos de coro, como nas faixas "Herd boy", "Piccaninnies" e "Nada". Além dessa músicas, destaque para "Son of a Zulu Man" e "Catch My Love".
Excelente pedida para fãs de jazz/ brass/ afro rock.

Pearl coming from South Africa, formed in 1971. The group Impi released a single album in the same year, performing a few shows in the region, but without success soon disbanded.
The eponymous album features 10 short tracks that mix jazz rock, funk and folk. There is presence of various instruments, especially for some strong arrangements with metals (trumpet, trombone) and clear influence of African rhythms with percussion and flute (tin whistle). The lyrics are all in English with beautiful vocal harmonies and several chorus, as in the tracks. Highlight to "Son of a Zulu Man", "Catch My Love", "Herd boy" and "Piccaninnies". Excellent pearl for fans of jazz / brass / african rock.

HEAVY PSYCH - CEPTIC FROG - Rehearsal - 1969

Talvez esta seja a banda mais obscura já postada aqui no blog! Não existe quase nenhuma informação sobre o grupo sul-africano Ceptic Frog, provavelmente a banda surgiu no final dos anos 60 e deixou apenas uma fita cassete como registro, gravada em 1969 com 11 faixas sem título, até hoje nunca lançada em vinil ou CD. Qualquer informação sobre o grupo é bem-vinda!
A fita intitulada Rehearsal (em português, Ensaio) traz 47 minutos de hard rock psicodélico (heavy psych), na maioria do tempo instrumental com longos jams e solos de guitarra e bateria, com algumas passagens de órgão. A qualidade do som é muito ruim, provavelmente gravada em alguma garagem na época. Influências de bandas "pesadas" da época, como Sabbath, Deep Purple e Steppenwolf (incluindo um cover de Magic Carpet Ride) são perceptíveis, com alguns momentos classificados até como Proto-doom!
Pérola altamente recomendada para fãs de obscuridades e o clássico "hardão" dos anos 60/70!

There is almost no information about the South African group Ceptic Frog, probably the band emerged in the late '60s and left only as a cassette record, recorded in 1969 with 11 untitled tracks. Any information about the group is welcome! The tape "Rehearsal" brings 47 minutes of heavy psych, most of the time with long instrumental jams and guitar and drums solos, with some passages of organ. The sound quality is very poor. PROG/PSYCH ROCK - HAWK - Africa She Too Can Cry - 1972

Pérola vinda da África do Sul, o Hawk (também conhecido como Jo'burg Hawk) surgiu em 1970 na cidade de Joanesburgo e lançou dois álbuns no começo da década de 70, alcançando certo reconhecimento na sua terra natal e na Inglaterra (onde chegaram a fazer uma pequena turnê) é hoje considerada uma das pioneiras do rock progressivo no país. O primeiro álbum dos caras, African Day, de 1971 é o mais conhecido deles, mas por isso posto aqui o segundo e último, lançado no ano seguinte e pouco tempo antes da banda se desfazer. Posto aqui a versão em CD, lançada em 2004, com 5 faixas bônus.
Africa She Too Can Cry traz 12 faixas com ótima mistura de rock progressivo, ainda nos seus primeiros passos pelo continente africano, e o psicodélico, contando ainda com ritmos típicos da região ("Uvuyo" e "Mumbo Jumbo"), bem diferente do debut, este mais soft rock. O vocal de Dave Ornellas merece destaque, com alguns momentos profundos e outros de empolgação e coral, na última faixa bônus ouvimos um dueto masculino e feminino. Quanto ao instrumental, o clássico trio guitarra/baixo/bateria está bastante presente, com alguns momentos legais de percussão e violão. Melhores faixas: "War Talk", "Rolling of the Bones" e com certeza "African Day Suite", com seus quase 17 minutos e várias divisões.
Nada extraordinário, mas um disco com vários bons momentos. Recomendado para fãs de prog e psych.

Hawk was a band from South Africa, formed in 1970 in Johannesburg and released two albums in the early 70s. Post here the second and least known of them, Africa She Too Can Cry, 1972, reissued in 2004 with 5 bonus tracks. It brings a good mix between progressive and psychedelic rock, with regional rhythms on tracks like "Uvuyo" and "Mumbo Jumbo". Emphasis on vocal, with some more melancholic moments and more exciting. Best tracks: "War Talk", "Rolling of the Bones" and certainly "African Day Suite", with its almost 17 minutes. Nothing extraordinary, but an album with several good moments. Recommended for fans of prog and psych.

Pérola vinda da África do Sul, o The Invaders foi formado na Cidade do Cabo no começo dos anos 60 e lançou vários álbuns e compactos durante essa década, com som voltado para o típico beat rock dos anos 60, seu último disco de inéditas foi lançado em 1970, até acabar alguns anos mais tarde.
There's a Light There's a Way traz um som mais maduro e voltado ao progressivo, com pitadas de rock psicodélico e ainda beat rock, o órgão Hammond aparece muito bem e presente em todos os momentos, o instrumental e o vocal combinam bem, criando ótima harmonia nas canções, algumas mais pesadas e outras melódicas.
Nada excepcional, mas uma pérola legal para conhecer.

Pearl coming from South Africa, The Invaders was formed in Cape Town in the early 60s and has released several albums and singles during that decade, with sound facing the typical '60s beat rock, their last album of new material was released in 1970 to end a few years later.
There's a Light There's a Way brings a more mature sound and returned to progressive, with touches of psychedelic rock and even beat rock, Hammond organ appears very well and this at all times, the instrumental and vocal blend well, creating great harmony in the songs, some are melodic and other heavier.
Nothing exceptional, but a nice pearl to know.

BLUES ROCK - OTIS WAYGOOD BLUES BAND - Same - 1970

Pérola formada no fim dos anos 60 em Bulawayo, no Zimbábue. O Otis Waygood Blues Band "se mudou" para a África do Sul, onde gravou seus 3 bons álbuns no começo dos anos 70, até o fim das atividades do fim da mesma década. Posto aqui seu primeiro trabalho, o homônimo de 1970.
Otis Waygood traz um ótimo Hard rock, com muitas influências de blues e até rock psicodélico e jazz. Conta com interessantes e ótimas passagens instrumentais, misturando o som da flauta, gaita (harmonica), sax, piano e guitarra; o vocal também agrada bastante. As letras são todas em inglês.
Hard blues rock setentista da melhor qualidade, álbum muito consiste, recheado de boas músicas, pérola altamente recomendada!

Pearl formed in the late '60s in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Otis Waygood Blues Band "moved" to South Africa, where recorded its 3 good albums in the early '70s, ended the activities in the end of the same decade. Post here its first job, the self titled in 1970.
Otis Waygood brings a great hard rock with many influences of blues and even jazz and psychedelic rock. It has interesting and great instrumental passages, mixing the sound of the flute, harmonica, sax, piano and guitar, the vocals quite well pleases. All the lyrics are in English.
Hard seventies blues rock of the highest quality, very consistent album, filled with great music, pearl highly recommended!

PSYCH ROCK/FREAKBEAT - McCULLY WORKSHOP INC. - Same - 1969

Pérola sul africana formada em Cidade do Cabo pelos irmãos Tully e Mike McCully, o Mc Cully Workshop Inc. foi um grupo começou como trio de folk rock como The Blue Beats, mudando para Larfing Stocke e finalmente McCully Workshop. Lançaram quatro álbuns no fim dos anos 60 e começo dos 70. Posto aqui o primeiro, de 1969.
O som do disco homônimo traz uma forte influência de bandas britânicas da época (principalmente Zappa, Beatles e Pink Floyd). Tendo combinação de vários estilos, principalmente o freakbeat, a mistura do rock de garagem e psicodélico, contando com passagens de beat e folk rock, tudo isso acompanhado de guitarras distorcidas, ótimos riffs, fortes batidas e em algumas faixas uso de instrumentos típicos do país. Os vocais são masculinos e femininos.
Um som único e muito bom vindo da África do Sul. Pérola recomendada!

Pérola Sul-africana formada em 1966 em Durban e que lançou 3 álbuns (68/70/72).
Galactic Vibes foi gravado em 1971 e lançado em 1972, o álbum é o mais progressivo da banda, mas que traz em sua maioria heavy psicodélico, com passagens de hard prog e space rock, influenciado por bandas como Black Sabbath e Led Zeppelin. O álbum foi relançado em 2002 com faixas bônus.
Ótimo disco que mistura faixas agressivas com riffs pesados com outras mais voltadas ao space e psych, destaque para a guitarra, a bateria em certos momentos "selvagem" e os vocais alucinantes. Pérola ultra recomendada!!!
