Comentário: Este foi um projeto de curta duração do compositor e cantor Nico Denhoorn, realizado na capital Amsterdã em 1970,  representando uma comunidade hippie local e que resultou em um raro LP independente lançado no mesmo ano. Nico lançou outros 2 álbuns solo e depois tornou-se escritor. 

Neste homônimo, estão presentes 14 curtas faixas de folk, variando entre atmosfera de baladas / pop até psicodelia lisérgica. O conteúdo lírico é o principal enfoque da obra, com letras de protesto e em defesa ao ambientalismo, sendo algumas músicas em inglês e outras em holandês. Os vocais são masculinos e femininos, acompanhados por arranjos instrumentais acústicos e simples, predominando violão, flauta e piano, além de raras intervenções da guitarra e órgão elétricos.

Uma boa opção para admiradores de acid folk dos anos 60, apesar de nada essencial.

This was a short-lived project by composer and singer Nico Denhoorn, born in Amsterdam, representing a local hippie community, that resulted in a rare private LP released in 1970. Nico released two other solo albums and then became a writer.

In the self-titled, there are 14 short folk tracks, varying from ballads /pop to lysergic psychedelic atmosphere. The lyrical content is the main focus of the album, with lyrics of protest and in defense of environmentalism, with some songs sung in English and others in Dutch. The vocals are masculine and feminine, accompanied by acoustic and simple instrumental arrangements, predominating guitar, flute and piano, as well as rare electric guitar and organ interventions.

A good choice for fans of acid folk from the 60's, although nothing essential.

Comentário: Cyril Havermans é um músico holandês que começou sua carreira em vários grupos pequenos nos anos 60, sendo lembrado principalmente por integrar o Brainbox e posteriormente a lendária Focus, chegando a gravar Moving Waves, quando saiu para seguir carreira solo. 

Posto aqui o primeiro e penúltimo disco dele, que conta com participação de todos os membros do Focus na época, além de outros convidados. São 10 curtas faixas de folk rock majoritariamente acústico, longe das grandes composições feitas por sua ex-banda, mas ainda sim muito bem executadas e arranjadas. Os toques dos gênios Akkerman e Thijs van Leer dão um ar mais progressivo em várias canções, com passagens de flauta, órgão, guitarra e percussão.

Um belo e interessante registro não só para fãs de Focus, mas folk progressivo como um todo. Recomendado!

Cyril is the first solo album by Dutch singer-songwriter Cyril Havermans. It was recorded in 1973 after Havermans left Dutch progressive rock band Focus. The parting was amicable and came about partly as a result of Havermans' desire to include more vocal content (Focus are primarily an instrumental band). His erstwhile band-mates contribute much instrumentation to the album. The songs are, for the most part, short acoustic guitar driven numbers and bear little resemblance to Focus material (Havermans did not write for the band). The lyrics are in English, apart from the traditional song "The Humpbacked Flute Player".

Comentário: Projeto de dois artistas que desde o início dos anos 60 participavam de pequenos grupos de blues da cena holandesa, ambos com outros LPs solos lançados, porém quase desconhecidos nos dias atuais. Dividido em 13 covers de clássicos das décadas de 40 e 50, há uma distinção clara entre os lado A e B. O primeiro (indo até 'Boogie Woogie Stomp') trata-se de piano blues / boogie woogie totalmente instrumental; animado e rápido, onde os irmãos Mark e Robert Jansen fazem um grande trabalho. Já no lado que fecha o disco, ouvimos um country blues arrastado e tradicional; Varekamp surge com seu vocal melancólico e marcante, influenciado pelas grandes vozes femininas do estilo, acompanhada pela corneta e piano.

Certamente uma pérola que agradará fãs do bom e velho blues! Recomendado!

Project of two artists who participated of small blues groups of the Dutch scene since early '60s, both with other solo LPs released, but almost unknown today. Divided into 13 covers of '40s and '50s classics , there is a clear distinction between the A and B sides. The first (going until 'Boogie Woogie Stomp') is all instrumental piano blues / boogie woogie; animated and fast, where brothers Mark and Robert Jansen do a great job. On the side that closes the disc, we hear a traditional country blues; Varekamp appears with her melancholy and outstanding vocal, influenced by the great feminine voices of the style, accompanied by the cornet and piano.

Certainly a gem that will please fans of good and old blues! Recommended!

Comentário: Duo vindo da Holanda, que lançou apenas este álbum pela Philips, com relançamento recente em CD e sem mais informações. O disco homônimo é composto de 10 curtas faixas (exceção do cover de "Season Of The Witch"), trazendo um som bastante comum do rock na época, influenciado pela cena norte-americana, com doses de psicodelia, country e até prog (nas raras passagens de sintetizador). O instrumental é destaque, mesclando partes acústicas e elétricas, porém sem tanta ambição em certos momentos.  

Duo from the Netherlands, that released only this album by Philips, with a recent CD edition and no further information. The self-titled album is composed of 10 short tracks (except for the cover of "Season Of The Witch"), bringing a fairly average rock sound at the time, influenced by the North American scene, with doses of psychedelia, country and even prog (with some synth passages). The instrumental is highlight, mixing acoustic and electric parts, but without so much ambition at certain times.

Comentário: Duo formado por dois viajantes, o francês Jacques Leglise e o inglês Michael Green, que na segunda metade dos anos 70 gravaram seu único LP na Alemanha, lançado de forma privada na Holanda e tendo suas poucas cópias vendidas em shows. Dividido em 4 longas faixas, trata-se de um belo exemplo de folk rock setentista, com doses de blues e country, além de atmosferas variadas: psicodélicas, acústicas e dançantes. É também surpreendente, tendo em vista que há uso de apenas violão e gaita de boca, executadas de forma competente e acompanhando raras passagens cantadas em inglês.   

Duo formed by two travelers, Jacques Leglise (French) and Michael Green (English), that recorded in the second half of the 70's their only LP in Germany, released privately in the Netherlands and having its few copies sold at concerts. Divided into 4 long tracks, this is a fine example of 70's folk rock, with blues and country doses, and different atmospheres: psychedelic, acoustic and dancing. It is also surprising, because only acoustic guitar and harmonica are used and well performed, accompanying rare passages sung in English.

Only and rare album from this band from Friesland, Netherlands, formed by former members of other small local groups to record this live album. With only 3 own tracks and other covers, most of the sound revolves around the traditional classic rock, without anything innovative and light blues and hard doses. The instrument is also simple, with good guitar and some saxophone and percussion passages; the lyrics are all in English.

Pérola obscura vinda da Holanda. Muito pouco se sabe sobre o grupo Bowl, eles não chegaram a lançar nenhum álbum nos anos em atividade, apenas antigas gravações ao vivo em 1975 e 77, nas cidades de Kuinre e Emmeloord, saíram em CD, porém não possuo informações sobre esse lançamento e sua data.
O homônimo é composto por 13 faixas de rock progressivo, com influências sinfônicas acentuadas e de rock clássico, lembrando nomes como Kayak, Alquin e Camel. O som é muito competente e até surpreendente em alguns instantes, combinando ótimo trabalho nos teclados de Johan Spiering (órgão e sintetizadores) e guitarra "refinada", proporcionando atmosfera viajante e reluzente. O vocal, todo em inglês, agrada e também não fica atrás.
Com raros momentos fracos, essa é uma ótima descoberta para fãs de rock progressivo e sinfônico.

The group Bowl was formed in the Netherlands. Very little is known about the band, they did not release any album in the years of activity, just old live recordings in 1975 and 77 in the cities of Kuinre and Emmeloord, came out on CD, but I do not have information about this release or the year.
The self-titled brings 13 tracks of progressive rock, with symphonic and classic rock influences, remembering names like Kayak, Alquin and Camel. The sound is very competent and even surprising in a few moments, combining great work on Johan Spiering's keyboards (organ and synthesizers) and "refined" guitar, providing trippy and shiny atmosphere. The vocals, all in English, all also very good. With few weak moments, this is a great discovery for progressive and symphonic rock fans.

Pérola obscura formada em Amsterdã, capital da Holanda, em 1971. O grupo foi formado originalmente com o nome Tantalus e no ano seguinte mudou para Tarantula, e assim como tantas outras bandas locais lançou apenas um raro compacto. Este traz as músicas "Angel of Stone" e "Tarantula Dance", ambas na casa dos 3 minutos e que mesclam estilos típicos do começo dos anos 70, principalmente hard e brass/ funk rock. O instrumental é bastante dinâmico, com guitarra barulhenta, metais (trompete e saxofone), percussão, flauta e vocais rasgados.
Com certeza uma banda muito competente e que poderia perfeitamente lançar um LP na época.

Tarantula was a band formed in Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, in 1971. The group was originally named Tantalus and in the next year changed definitely, and like so many other local bands has just launched a rare single. This brings the songs "Angel of Stone" and "Tarantula Dance", both with 3 minutes and mixing typical early 70s styles, as hard and brass / funk rock. The instrumental is quite dynamic, with noisy guitar, brass (trumpet and saxophone), percussion, flute and good vocals. Certainly a very competent group and that could have released a LP at the time.

Ronald Snijders é um multi-instrumentista nascido em Paramaribo, capital do Suriname, em 1951. Começou a estudar flauta com 7 anos, influenciado pelo pai e em 1970 partiu para a Holanda, onde se estabeleceu como músico e lançou seus vários discos nas décadas seguintes. Hoje continua em atividade, trabalhando também como professor e produtor na Europa.
Posto aqui seu raro debut intitulado Natural Sources, de 1977, onde Ronald mostra toda sua habilidade compondo e tocando todos os instrumentos nas 10 faixas. Suas influências são variadas, passando sempre pelo jazz, em momentos latino (inclusive ritmos brasileiros), outros funk e fusion/ experimental, trazendo uma experiência musical muito agradável e bem viajante. O álbum é todo instrumental e acústico, com uso de flauta, percussão, violão e teclados, destaque para as músicas "Seven Wings", "Busy Street" e "Brazilian Blue", apesar de consistente.
Deixem-se levar pelo belo som, pérola essencial para fãs de jazz latino e fusion.

Ronald Snijders is a multi-instrumentalist born in Paramaribo, capital of Suriname, in 1951. He began studying flute when he was seven, influenced by his father and in 1970 moved to the Netherlands, where he established himself as a musician and launched his many records in the following decades . Today he's still active, also working as a teacher and producer in Europe.
Post here his rare debut titled Natural Sources, 1977, which shows Ronald's ability, writing and performing all instruments in the 10 tracks. His influences are varied, always related to jazz, in moments Latin (including Brazilian rhythms), some funk and fusion / experimental, bringing a very nice and trip musical experience. The album is all instrumental and acoustic, using flute, percussion, guitar and keyboards, best songs are "Seven Wings", "Busy Street" and "Brazilian Blue", although consistent. Enjoy and relax with this beautiful sound, essential to Latin jazz and fusion fans.

HEAVY PSYCH - APARTMENT 1 - Open House - 1970

O grupo Apartment 1 surgiu em 1967 como Serpentine (clique para mais informações), mudando definitivamente de nome em 1970, lançando assim este álbum e outros 3 compactos até 1972, quando provavelmente se desfizeram e alguns membros se juntaram ao Solution. O disco foi relançado em CD este ano pela O-Music.
Open House, de 1970, traz 10 faixas curtas e com som mais desenvolvido que "In the Grass", porém não ganhou atenção comercial. Ouvimos aqui uma mistura equilibrada e um pouco atrasada (próximo do final dos anos 60) entre hard rock com psicodelia, heavy psych, com excelente trabalho de guitarra fuzz, acompanhada por órgão e letras em inglês. Quanto as faixas, destaque para "Step Inside", "Fuzz Buzz", "Dragstream" e "Like A Queen".
Pérola recomendada para fãs de hard psicodélico dos anos 70.

Apartment 1 (or Apartment One as noted on the label itself) is a straightforward late psych / early hard rock record. Sounds more like what was happening with their fellow countrymen in the 1960s Dutch scene with albums from Cosmic Dealer, The Outsiders, and Q65. Plenty of excellent fuzz guitar and soloing to enjoy here. All on top of some splendid older organ sounds. The opening tracks on each side are instrumental, and represent the best material on the album. The vocals are in machismo English - with a gospel tinge. As such, it reminds me of the vast bone yard of US post psych albums from 1970 on labels like Paramount, ABC, Verve, Rare Earth, and Mercury.

Pérola formada em Hilversum na segunda metade dos anos 60. O grupo Serpentine lançou dois compactos em sua primeira fase, como sexteto, que durou até 1969. Após várias mudanças de formação, permaneceram os músicos Frank van Tijin e Peter van der Sande, gravando um único e raro disco em 1970. Pouco tempo depois mudaram o nome para Apartment 1, lançando outro LP no mesmo ano.
In the Grass é dividido em 12 curtas faixas, totalizando menos de 30 minutos. O álbum começa promissor com "Tell Me Some More" (única totalmente instrumental) e "The Doctor Said", seguindo rock clássico com pegada prog e hard, mas acaba se perdendo em várias canções ao seguir a linha pop, sem nada muito diferente dos discos da época. O instrumental, apesar de um pouco preso pelo tamanho e tendência comercial das músicas, é responsável pelos melhores momentos, com interessantes passagens de órgão, guitarra e metais, já o vocal não agrada muito, sendo todas as letras em inglês.
Nada de muito interessante, mas ainda recomendado para fãs de rock obscuro.

Serpentine was formed in Hilversum, in the second half of the 60. The group released two singles in its first phase, as sextet, which lasted until 1969. After several lineup changes, the remaining musicians Frank van Tijin and Peter van der Sande, recorded the only and rare album in 1970. Shortly after they changed the name to Apartment 1, releasing another LP in the same year.
"In the Grass" is divided into 12 short tracks, totaling less than 30 minutes. The album starts promising with "Tell Me Some More" (only fully instrumental) and "The Doctor Said", two classic rock with prog and hard touches, but get lost in several songs following pop line, with nothing much different from records of the time. The instrumental, though a bit stuck by the size and commercial way of music, is responsible for the best moments with interesting organ, guitar and metals passages, as the vocal does not fit well, with all the lytics in English. Nothing very interesting, but still recommended to obscure rock fans.

Pérola formada em Apeldoon, na Holanda. Tiveram origem nos anos 60, com os irmãos Ben, Andre e Henk Groote, nomeados Goldstar Brothers e posteriormente Gee Bros, quando lançaram vários compactos. Em 1970 mudaram para Crying Wood, projeto que ainda contava com o baixista Cor Mestenbeld e organista Henny Backers, resultando em um compacto e outro raro LP (aparentemente lançado no Canadá), ambos em 1970. A banda se desfez logo depois, mas os irmãos voltariam a música no Air Bubble, anos mais tarde.
Back to the Mountains conta com 10 faixas, maioria curtas, que misturam rock psicodélico e progressivo, com forte pegada "hardeira", ao estilo de Uriah Heep e os conterrâneos do Focus. O instrumental é simples, mas direto, solos de órgão martelando e guitarra se revezam, no clima típico do rock setentista. As letras são todas em inglês, com potente vocal de Andre Groote.
Um petardo obscuro e empoeirado que vai agradar fãs de hard prog e psych.

Mais uma pérola vinda da Holanda, o Jug Session foi formado no final dos anos 60 por jovens da província de Brabante do Norte. A banda lançou apenas um raro compacto em 1970, se desfazendo pouco tempo depois. Após o fim alguns membros integraram outras bandas locais como Vitesse, Otger Dice e Strato.
Esse único single traz as músicas "Easy Here" e "Runnin' Down", ambas curtas e cantadas em inglês. Altamente influenciado pela psicodelia da época, em nomes como Hendrix e Taste, com excelente trabalho da guitarra e ainda pegadas de funk, com metais e órgão. Vocal "cavernoso" de Anton Verhagen também merece destaque. Pérola ao estilo do rock setentista, recomendado para fãs do estilo.

Pearl from Netherlands, the group Jug Session was formed in the late 60s by young people of North Brabant province. The band released only a rare single in 1970, falling apart soon after. After the end some members have integrated other local bands like Vitesse, Otger Dice and Strato.
It brings the songs "Easy Here" and "Runnin 'Down", both short and sung in English. Highly influenced by psychedelia of the time, like Hendrix and Taste, with excellent guitar work and even funk tracks, with metals and organ. Anton Verhagen's yelled vocals also noteworthy. Typical 70s  heavy psych, recommended for fans of the style.

Pérola obscura vinda da Holanda, ativa na segunda metade dos anos 70. O grupo Deirdre lançou apenas um compacto e um LP em 1977, ambos raros e ainda não relançados. Infelizmente a banda se desfez logo em seguida; em 2006 houve uma rápida reunião com vários membros originais.
O álbum homônimo é dividido em 10 curtas, mas bonitas faixas de folk com influências progressivas, principalmente britânico de bandas como Fairport Convention e Steeleye Span. Lindos vocais femininos, com 2 cantoras se revezando é acompanhado por rico instrumental, em momentos acústico, com violão, bandolim, piano e violino e outros com clássico trio baixo, bateria e guitarra. As letras são maioria em inglês, apenas duas músicas em holandês. Som tranquilo e prazeroso de se ouvir do começo ao fim, com destaque para as faixas "Lovely Joan", "Young Waters" e "Tell Me What You See In Me".
Pérola altamente recomendada para fãs de folk prog e rock.

Pearl from the Netherlands, active in the second half of the 70. The group Deirdre released only a single and an LP in 1977, both rare and not yet reissued. Unfortunately the band disbanded shortly thereafter; in 2006 there was a brief meeting with several original members.
The self-titled album is divided into 10 short, but beautiful folk tracks with progressive influences, mainly British bands like Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span. Beautiful female vocals, with two singers taking turns is accompanied by rich instrumental in acoustic moments, with acoustic guitar, mandolin, piano and violin and others with bass, drums and guitar. The lyrics are mostly in English, only two songs in Dutch. Quiet and pleasant sound to hear from beginning to end, especially the tracks "Lovely Joan", "Young Waters" and "Tell Me What You See In Me". Highly recommended for prog folk and rock fans.

Pérola vinda da pequena cidade de Bergen, na Holanda. O grupo Tortilla surgiu em 1970 pelos irmãos Jan-Piet e Emile den Tex, ambos já tinham passado por pequenas bandas locais, como Panda e Turquoise. Lançaram apenas um raro álbum em 1971, logo no ano seguinte alguns membros saíram e o quinteto se desfez precocemente.
O disco Little Heroes é dividido em 10 curtas faixas que combinam folk rock com fortes traços de country, na maior parte acústico e calmo, lembrando em vários momentos grandes nomes do estilo nos EUA. No instrumental, destaque para belas passagens de violão, piano e guitarra, contando ainda com participações de violino e sax. O vocal, com todas as letras em inglês, de Emile den Tex também são agradáveis. Para as músicas, destaque para "Dreams Take Me Away", "In the Room" e "Wild Pony" (com toques hard/ psych), apesar de ser um trabalho sólido e com vários bons momentos para fãs de folk e country rock. Pérola recomendada!

Pearl coming from the small city of Bergen, the Netherlands. The group Tortilla emerged in 1970 by brothers Jan-Piet and Emile den Tex. Just released a rare disc in 1971, in the next year some members left and the quintet disbanded early. 
The album Little Heroes is divided into 10 short tracks that blend folk rock with strong traces of country, mostly acoustic and calm, remembering various moments americans groups. Instrumentally, highlighting beautiful passages of acoustic guitar, piano and guitar still with appearances of violin and sax. For the songs, especially "Dreams Take Me Away", "Wild Pony" and "In the Room", despite being a solid and with several good moments for fans of folk and country rock work.

KRAUT/ JAM ROCK - ELLUFFANT - Release Concert - 1972

Mais uma obscura pérola vinda da Holanda, o Elluffant foi uma dupla formada em Roterdã no começo dos anos 70, por Cees de Visser, na bateria e percussão e Ernst Kersting, no órgão e teclados. Deixaram apenas um raro álbum em 1972, gravado ao vivo de forma independente e com apenas 150 cópias, vendidas por uma instituição local.
O disco Release Concert traz apenas 2 longas faixas instrumentais, ambas na casa dos 16 minutos, seguindo a linha experimental, influenciada pelo som alemão do Krautrock e também rock psicodélico e progressivo. Os jams trazem um som viajante e até sombrio em alguns momentos, com longos solos de órgão e bateria se alternando e uso de vários pedais e distorções.
Pérola recomendada pra quem curte obscuridades do rock, sons experimentais e krautrock.

Pearl from the Netherlands, the duo Elluffant was formed in Rotterdam in the early '70s. Released only a rare album in 1972, recorded live and with only 150 copies, sold by a local institution. 
The album Release Concert features only 2 long instrumental tracks, following the experimental rock music, influenced by the German Krautrock sound and also psychedelic and prog rock. The jams bring a stoned and even dark sound at times, with long organ solos and drums alternating, with using multiple pedals and distortion. Recommended for those who enjoy obscurities, krautrock and experimental sounds.

Pérola obscura formada em Roermond, na Holanda, ainda no começo dos anos 60, o grupo Les Gosses lançou um compacto e um único álbum em 1971, este último lançado de forma independente e com apenas 270 cópias, até hoje não relançado e valendo um bom dinheiro entre colecionadores.
O disco homônimo traz 11 faixas curtas que misturam rock psicodélico típico do final da década de 60, com pitadas de progressivo, hard e também algumas baladas. Os covers presentes mostram as influências dos caras, como "Thunderback Ram", do Mott the Hoople, "What Is And What Should Never Be", do Led Zeppelin e "Your Own Choice", do Procol Harum. No instrumental, destaque para o órgão, piano e guitarra, as letras são em inglês e com alguns momentos de coro.
Nada de extraordinário, mas uma boa raridade para fãs de rock psicodélico dos anos 60.

HARD PROG/FOLK - BARRY HAY - Only Parrots, Frogs and Angels - 1972

Barry Hay é um conhecido cantor e músico nascido em 1948 na Índia, mas se mudou quando criança para Amsterdan, capital da Holanda, junto com a família e onde foi criado e se consagrou na música. Barry começou  tocando em pequenos grupos de beat/ pop nos anos 60, como The Haigs e no começo do Schocking Blue, mas foi com o Golden Earring que ele alcançou sucesso, lançando vários álbuns e hits durante a fase dourada do grupo, um dos mais importantes do país. Em 1972 o cantor lançou um álbum, paralelo ao trabalho no Golden, que não conseguiu retorno e acabou se tornando uma pérola desconhecida por muitos, por isso posto aqui.
O disco Only Parrots, Frogs and Angels, de 1972, traz 8 músicas que misturam vários estilos, rock psicodélico, progressivo, country, folk e hard, com poucos momentos mais comerciais, de pop/rock. Há uso de vários instrumentos, como flauta, teclados, saxofone, percussão violão e violino. O vocal de Barry Hay, conhecido por muitos, também merece destaque. Melhores faixas: "Sometimes Three Times", "Xena" e "Once Upon a Time". No geral, um disco sem nada de extraordinário ou muito diferente do que se fazia na época, mas que merece ser mais conhecido e ouvido.
Pérola recomendada para quem curte rock dos anos 70 em geral e especialmente fans de Golden Earring.

Barry Hay is a well-known singer and musician born in 1948 in India, but moved as a child to Amsterdam. Barry began playing in small groups beat / pop in the '60s, but it was with the Golden Earring he achieved success, releasing several albums during the 60s and 70s. In 1972 the singer released a parallel album, without sucess and eventually became a real rarity.
The album Only Parrots, Frogs and Angels, 1972, brings 8 songs that blend various styles, psychedelic rock, progressive, country, folk and hard, with few moments more commercial. There is use of various instruments like flute, keyboards, saxophone, percussion, guitar and violin. The voice of Barry Hay, known by many, is also noteworthy. Best tracks: "Sometimes Three Times", "Xena" and "Once Upon a Time". Overall, nothing extraordinary or very different than it was at the time, but it deserves to be better known and heard.

Pérola holandesa formada na cidade de Losser no final da década de 60 pelos irmãos Frits, Arie e Harrie Ekkel. Com a entrada do baixista Kees Reinders o grupo Sam Dice lançou seu único e raro LP, de 1000 cópias e que nunca foi relançado em CD. A banda continua tocando por clubes e bares da Holanda, com frequência bem menor, no repertório músicas próprias e alguns covers.
O disco Dutch Disease traz um bom rock'n'roll, com várias passagens mais voltadas ao hard rock e blues, destaque para o ótimo vocal, todo em inglês, e tremendo trabalho de guitarra, com fortes riffs e solos de guitarra. Destaque para a faixa de abertura "A Diff'rent Town, A Diff'rent Sweetheart", com uma pegada country/hard, as mais pesadas "I Cannot get The Next Plano Home" e "Trouble Is Not What I Wanted" e a última e mais "bluseira" do álbum, Tears "Are Wasted All The Time", incrível blues rock com 7 minutos.

Dutch pearl formed in the city of Losser in the late 60's by brothers Frits, Arie and Harrie Ekkel. With the additions of bassist Kees Reinders Sam Dice released their only and rare LP of 1000 copies and was never reissued on CD. The band continues playing for clubs and bars in the Netherlands, with a much lower frequency, repertoire own songs and some covers.
The album Dutch Disease features a good rock'n'roll, with several more devoted to hard rock and blues passages, especially the great vocal, all in english, and shivering guitar work, with strong riffs and guitar solos. Emphasis on the opening track "The Diff'rent Town, The Diff'rent Sweetheart" with a country / hard footprint, heavier "I Can not get The Next Home Plan" and "Trouble Is Not What I Wanted" and the last and more bluesy of the album: "Tears Are Wasted All The Time" amazing blues rock with 7 minutes.

Pérola formada em Amsterdã, capital da Holanda em 1965 pelo flautista e saxofonista Rob van Wageningen e pelos irmãos Peter (baixo) e Winky Abbink (bateria) originalmente voltada ao jazz, após a entrada do baixista Tony Schreuder em 1968 a banda volta o seu som para o rock psicodélico, mas ainda assim muito influenciado pelo improvisação e jazz. O grupo lançou um único álbum em 1970 e acabou apenas um ano após o lançamento do homônimo, que foi relançado com faixas bônus em 1999.
O som da banda traz uma excelente mescla de vários estilos, principalmente rock psicodélico e jazz, tendo alguns momentos progressivo, hard e space rock ou até avant-prog. Conta com 6 faixas (vinil original), na maioria longas e algumas extensas improvisações. No instrumental o destaque fica para boas passagens de flauta, sax e guitarra, outros instrumentos como órgão, piano, trompete e percussão em geral também dão um "toque a mais" ao álbum, o vocal em inglês cheio de sotaque também merece destaque. Já as 5 faixas bônus são apenas curtas improvisações.
No geral, uma pérola excelente, altamente recomendada para fãs de rock psicodélico e de rock obscuro em geral.

As for the 5 bonus tracks are just short improvisations .
Overall, a great pearl , highly recommended for fans of psychedelic rock and obscure rock in general.
