ACID/ PSYCH ROCK - VARIOUS - 100% Unknown Fibers: Odd-Lots - 1970

This is one of those records with long history, here's a brief summary of The Laguna Beach Christmas Happening. It was one of several festivals organized by hippies in the West Coast at the time, this occurred in an isolated region of Laguna Beach for 3 days, beginning on December 25, 1970 and bringing together about 25,000 people. Because of the short time organizing the event, it did not count with the presence of any big rock name, its history survives today thanks to these amateur recordings made during the shows, released privately and only way between 1970/71. Several other stories of the festival, such as the presence of "Brotherhood of Eternal Love" and Buddy Miles, who even made some "jams" on guitar you read in the link below.
"100% Unknown Fibers: Odd-Lots" brings 6 unknown tracks, apparently played by four small local groups (which we only know the name of "East Sea and Utopian Mission" and "Live Wire"), always initiated by a hippie message announced between presentations. The sound is most of the time occupied by jams and improvisations, in the acid / psychedelic line, influenced by great bands of the time (with a Hendrix's cover) in trip or aggressive moments. Fuzz guitar, drums and rare organ and flute passages stand out in long solos. The quality of course is not the best, because it is a bootleg.
Acid, psychedelic and nervous rock from start to finish in a very interesting record of American hippie era. Highly recommended pearl!
