PSYCHEDELIC ROCK - ART BOYS COLLECTION - Stoned Wall - 1972

Art Boys COllection foi uma pérola vinda da Áustria, surgiu em Andorf no fim da década de 60. O grupo saiu da pequena cidade natal e foi para a capital Viena, onde começou a fazer shows e gravou os primeiros compactos, em 1972 a banda gravou e lançou seu único e raro LP, Stoned Wall, pela Lesborne. A banda conseguiu certo sucesso no país e chegou a abrir para Deep Purple e outros nomes importantes do rock na região. Após a saída de alguns membros como o guitarrista e fundador, Gerhard Egger, a banda encerrou as atividades em 1975. Em 2001 a gravadora alemã Garden of Delights relançou o álbum em CD com algumas faixas bônus.
O disco traz um típico rock psicodélico da época, com influencias de prog (principalmente nas passagens de órgão) e também de beat dos anos 60. Algumas faixas mais pesadas, com guitarra fuzz e órgão "agressivo" são destaque, em faixas como "Jesus Said" e "I'm riding on an arrow" e "Freedom", mas algumas baladas com bonitas passagens de violão também agradam. Também estão presentes algumas harmonias vocais agradáveis, todas as letras estão em inglês.
Pérola bem legal de conhecer, recomendado principalmente para quem curte rock psicodélico com um "pé" no rock dos anos 60.

Art Boys Collection was a pearl coming of Austria, appeared in Andorf in the late 60's. The group left the small hometown and went to the capital Vienna, where they began playing live and recorded the first singles, in 1972 the band recorded and released their unique and rare LP, Stoned Wall, by Lesborne. The band managed some success in the country and even opened for Deep Purple. After the departure of some members as the guitarist and founder, Gerhard Egger, the band ended its activities in 1975. In 2001 the German label Garden of Delights reissued the album on CD with some bonus tracks.
The album features a typical psychedelic rock of the era with prog influences (especially in passages organ) and also 60s beat. Some heavier tracks with fuzz guitar and "aggressive" organ are highlighted on tracks like "Jesus Said", "I'm riding on an arrow" and "Freedom", but some ballads with beautiful acoustic guitar passages also pleasing. Also present are some nice vocal harmonies , all the lyrics are in English .
Pearl cool to hear, especially recommended for those who enjoy psychedelic rock, 60s style.
